Why we weave
Tape-in extensions are the common method because they are fast. The trade-off shows up three months later: as the hair grows, the adhesive strip travels down the head and starts to catch the light. Most people who tell us they have given up on extensions are describing exactly that.
A woven extension is stitched to a small braided base. Nothing is glued to the scalp, nothing can peel, and because the base can be kept small it suits fine hair that could never hide a strip of tape. It takes longer in the chair. It is the reason it stays invisible.

What is the difference between woven and tape-in extensions?
Tape-in extensions are bonded flat to the scalp with adhesive. As the hair grows the tape travels down and can show. A woven extension is stitched to a small braided base with no adhesive, so nothing peels or shows, and it holds longer between moves.
Can fine hair take extensions?
Often yes, and weaving is usually the better method for it. Fine hair struggles to hide an adhesive strip, whereas a woven base can be kept small. It is the first thing we assess, because the honest answer is sometimes no.
Can extensions help with thinning or hair loss?
We have fitted extensions for clients going through hair loss, including after medical treatment. It depends entirely on the scalp and the remaining hair, so it starts with a consultation rather than a booking.
What do extensions cost?
Price is set at the consultation, because it depends on length, how much hair is needed and the method that suits you. We would rather quote accurately in person than publish a number that is wrong for your hair.

Jane Maldy and Anita Hawke both fit extensions here. Each is a colorist as well as an extension specialist, which is why the color match tends to disappear rather than sit alongside your own hair. Anita is also a Certified Holistic Practitioner of Trichology, so she is the one to ask if thinning or scalp condition is part of the picture.
