Wellington & Red Market
Wellington sits due west of us: Southern Boulevard east for most of the way, then a short run south on Dixie to 3008. Twenty-five minutes in ordinary traffic, longer on a show morning.
Wellington’s calendar is unlike anywhere else in the county. From January through April the Winter Equestrian Festival puts an international crowd in town on a schedule dictated by ring times, and hair gets booked around a class rather than around a working day. We are used to that — early appointments before the ring, and colour timed to the weeks between circuits rather than a neat six-week cycle.
It also shapes what people ask for. Hair that spends its winter under a helmet, in the sun, and washed more often than it would like needs colour that tolerates all three. Freehand balayage and a gloss finish handle it considerably better than a high-lift foil job that shows every inch of regrowth.
Questions
- How long is the drive from Wellington?
- About twenty-five minutes east on Southern Boulevard, then south on Dixie to 3008 South Dixie Highway. Allow longer on a busy show morning during the season.
- Can you work around the equestrian season?
- Yes — a good number of our Wellington guests book around ring times from January through April. Tell us your schedule when you book and we will find a slot that fits it rather than the other way round.
