Boca Raton & Red Market

Boca Raton is a genuine stretch at roughly twenty miles — six miles beyond Delray on I-95, so this is not a convenient run. We would rather say that plainly than pretend otherwise: nobody drives up from Boca for a ten-minute trim.

Boca has no shortage of salons, including some very good ones, so the honest reason to come north is the craft. This is a French salon in the literal sense — Paul Desmarre and Martial Vivot between them carry forty years of Paris-trained work — and the color is painted freehand the way it is done in France. The difference shows up months later: a balayage with no hard root line grows out soft instead of striping.

Keratin smoothing is $350, and balayage is $500 all-in with the gloss and treatment included. The men’s grooming room — a dedicated space, not a chair in the corner — runs from $140. If you are making the drive, it is usually for one of those rather than a quick cut.

Questions

Is Boca Raton too far to travel?
It is a real drive — about twenty miles, roughly thirty-five to forty minutes up I-95. Most Boca guests make it for color, a correction, or a cut from a Paris-trained cutter, not for routine maintenance. A balayage appointment runs a few hours anyway, so the journey is a smaller part of the day than it sounds.
How much does keratin cost?
Keratin smoothing is $350, and balayage is $500 all-inclusive with the gloss and treatment included rather than added on afterwards. Every color appointment starts with a consultation, so the price is agreed before we begin.
