How we read hair — versus the local norm
Most salons in West Palm Beach work from a foil chart and a template. We work the
opposite way. Color is painted freehand — balayage read
from how the light falls on your hair, not applied in uniform stripes — and cuts are built
around the head you actually have, so they grow out cleanly for weeks instead of collapsing
after the first wash. It is the Parisian method, and it takes the same chair time as the
chart version. The result just lasts three or four months where the other lasts four weeks.
The training behind it runs deep. Paul Desmarre leads the salon day to day, trained at
Coiffirst Champs-Élysées in Paris and seasoned on runway and editorial sets; Reynald Ricard
brought the house's freehand painting across two decades of New York, Miami and Los Angeles.
Martial Vivot's men's-grooming standard fills the private room at the back. It is the
combination West Palm Beach did not have before this door opened. The same floor fits
hand-woven hair extensions, color-matched by the
colorists who do the balayage.

Every appointment starts with a free consultation, and your artist
confirms the final number before any work begins — no surprises at the chair.
Your first visit
A first appointment here starts with a conversation, not a chair. Your colorist or cutter
sits with you, looks at your hair properly, and tells you what is actually achievable before
anything is mixed or clipped — including the honest version when what you want will not work
on your hair. The consultation is free, and if you are here for color it is built into the
appointment time.
From there, book online in about a minute, or call (561) 331-2463.
Come as you are; we do not need it washed or prepped. If you are choosing a colorist for the
first time, tell us what you are after when you book and we will match you to the right pair
of hands — the team is small enough that the person who consults is the
person who stands behind the chair.
Color or cut — which do you book?
They are two different appointments, and knowing which one you need saves the first ten
minutes of the visit.
Book a cut when the shape is the problem — length, weight, a grow-out that
has lost its line. A precision cut is built around your head
and your hair's growth pattern so it holds its shape for weeks. Book color when
the tone is the problem — brass, flatness, a regrowth line, or color that has stopped doing
what it should. Balayage and full color
are painted freehand and quoted by consultation, because the formula is mixed to your hair,
not decanted from a bottle.
If you want both, book them together — a combined service runs one continuous appointment
rather than two visits, and your colorist and cutter work from the same picture.
The men’s room
Men do not get a chair in the corner here. The salon has a dedicated, private grooming room
built to the Martial Vivot standard — the New York name behind
two NY Magazine Best of Beauty awards and a GQ and Vogue Hommes clientele. Precision cuts
start at $140, beard work from $60, and a proper straight-razor Davines shave at $95, all on
a separate men’s grooming menu.
It is the honest difference between a barber and a groomer: a consultation that reads your
growth pattern rather than a set style, and a finish you can actually reproduce at home the
next morning.
Where our guests drive from
We pull from most of Palm Beach County — the island ten minutes over the bridge, Palm Beach
Gardens and Lake Worth Beach close by, Wellington and Jupiter further out, Delray Beach to the
south. Every area below has its own page with the real route, the drive time and the reason
guests from that community make the trip. Click through for yours.
Hours & when we’re closed
We are open Tuesday through Friday, 10 AM to 6 PM, and Saturday,
10 AM to 4 PM. Closed Sunday and Monday. Walk-ins are taken by availability, so for
anything more than a trim — especially color, which needs a longer slot — book ahead online
or call (561) 331-2463.
