How Much Does Balayage Cost in West Palm Beach?

Hand-painted balayage result with soft warm-blonde mid-lengths

It is the first question almost everyone asks, and most salon websites dodge it. So here are the real numbers for balayage in West Palm Beach, and an honest explanation of what moves the price up or down.

Our balayage pricing

At Red Market & Martial Vivot, color is priced by the service, with a gloss and treatment built into the signature work:

  • Signature Balayage — $500 (gloss and treatment included)
  • Single Process + Balayage (same appointment) + Gloss — $400
  • Single Process + Balayage (separate) + Gloss — $465
  • Gloss Shine (toner refresh between appointments) — $120
  • Face Framing (lightening around the hairline + toner + blowout) — $300

Every color appointment opens with a complimentary consultation, so the quote you get is based on your actual hair, not a guess over the phone.

Why balayage isn’t cheap (and why that’s the point)

Balayage is hand-painted, freehand, with no foils — which means the entire result depends on a colorist’s eye and time at the chair, not on a machine or a kit. A signature appointment is 90 minutes of skilled placement, processing in open air, then toning and glossing to finish. You are paying for the technique, the products, and the years behind the hand holding the brush. If you want the background on the method itself, read what French balayage actually is.

A few things that move the price within that range:

  • Starting color and length. Going several levels lighter, or working with very long or very dense hair, takes more product and time.
  • Whether you need a single process underneath. Covering regrowth or evening out base color adds a step.
  • Correction work. If you are coming from boxed color or a previous job that went brassy, that is a different service — start with a consultation.

How often you’ll actually come back

This is where balayage pays you back. Because there is no hard regrowth line, most clients stretch 12 to 16 weeks between full appointments — far longer than the 6–8 weeks foil highlights demand. Many keep it bright in between with a $120 gloss rather than a full service. Over a year, that cadence often makes balayage less expensive to maintain than traditional highlights, even at a higher per-visit price. We cover the upkeep in detail in how to maintain balayage between visits.
